Emeritus Professor Anne Edwards AO

Anne Edwards is is a sociologist who has spent her career in universities, most recently at Flinders University, where she was Vice-Chancellor from 2001 to 2007. Her academic interests include social inequality, social control, the modern state, social policy, ageing, women and gender issues and she has worked with governments and non-government organisations on a range of social policy issues. Among her current activities are membership of various South Australian boards and national bodies, including the Art Gallery of SA Board, COTA (SA) and the Academy of the Social Sciences in Australia, and she is currently Co-Chair of the Premier’s Council for Women in SA.
