Our Sydney team have been working with place based innovation in and around Lavington in southern NSW, with an exhibition being held recently at the Murray Art Museum Albury (MAMA) showcasing images taken by participating children of Lavington.
This exhibition features photographs taken by kids living in social housing areas in Lavington and Springdale Heights. Each child was given a disposable camera so they could take photos of the area from their perspective, providing a unique insight into the region.
These activities were part of a broader project undertaken by The Australian Centre for Social Innovation (TACSI) for the Department of Family and Community Services NSW. TACSI worked with residents of these areas to explore challenges and opportunities in the community.
TACSI would like to thank Dirk Wallace, Ilford, Foto Supplies Albury and MAMA for their generous contributions to these photography activities and the broader project.
