Enabling change with Aboriginal families and services

How can services enable sustainable change with Aboriginal families?

Written in 2013 the report ‘Enabling change with Aboriginal families and services’ is still relevant today. In our tenth year we turn our gaze toward what has worked and what hasn’t, what has scaled out and deep, and where more work needs to be done. With urban Aboriginal families experiencing unacceptably poor outcomes at the time of this report, and beyond, we look back on this piece from 2013 which posed the question “How can we enable sustainable change with Aboriginal families”?

After spending time with 12 Aboriginal families and 15 services in northern Adelaide this report laid the foundations for how Family by Family today engages with community and highlights the shifts that still need to occur with urban Aboriginal families to thrive. In their own words, these are the stories and ideas from an Aboriginal perspective, a voice we need to hear more of.
