Senior Social Innovator: Co-design, Policy and Criminology

Leanne McPhee

Senior Social Innovator: The Future of Home

At TACSI, Leanne redesigns the way we live as we age. She leads projects that connect community, government and non-government, and helps to translate the different ‘worlds’ and language across the system to facilitate these connections.

Leanne’s broad experience working across social policy, strategy, community development and service design means she’s just as skilled at broad thinking as she is diving into the detail. Naturally curious, she’s quickly able to identify patterns, missing links and connections, which helps her communicate the nuances of diverse (and often interrelated) issues in a compelling way.

A recent highlight is her work with the National Disability Insurance Agency to co-design a policy and live prototype to enable people with disabilities to choose the living arrangement and supports they need to thrive.

Outside work, Leanne is passionate about the history, science and art of alternative photographic processes. She loves experimenting with different ways of working with gold to create hand-made photographs, and then teaching others how to take their art photography to the next level.
